So, So Broken

By -

As you have surmised, I am returning to my beloved Palo Alto. Turns out this is a Non-Smoking flight, which clears things up quite a bit. All this time I thought it was the year 1973.

Anyway, what a bizarre time to be on the road, huh? And how silly I feel for worrying and wringing my hands in October how we were all going to get tricked again, just like in early February. Not this time, boy. This market is broken. So, so broken. And the devastating, destructive, global financial panic that I’ve been dreaming about for so long has finally been born like a smiling child in a crib.

Who’s Winning?

Don’t let my Herculean physique fool you. I’ve never been an athlete. Not even once. In fact, I don’t even like perspiration. The only exercise I get is swimming, and that’s because I don’t have to deal with sweat, which I find sort of ewwww. So, yeah, I’m a man’s man.

Inside their Minds

There was a time I thought pretty much all my readers were from the United States. Out of fear of offshore hacking, I blocked a ton of countries and quickly found out how many loyal readers I have in places I could never have imagined. It seems just about every landmass with civilization has Slopers on it. Indeed, looking at my Twitter followers (which is a pretty good proxy for the site in general), you can see how they are spread far and wide.

How Now Dow Cow?

By -

A reader recently shared with me some charts which I find remarkable. The point is a simple one, as is the presentation.

Below is a monthly chart of the Dow 30 Industrials. Take note of the two study panes beneath it: the top is the stochastics, and the bottom is the MACD. In particular, notice the line markups on the indicators showing the pattern breaktop (stochastics) and the non-confirmation divergence (MACD). Click on the chart to see a bigger version.
