One of the most horrifying parts of San Francisco is known as Civic Center. So much so, that when I wanted to write about the epicenter of lawlessness in my dystopian novel Solid State, I used Civic Center as my setting. I therefore found it unintentionally amusing that SF’s mayor tweeted this out:

I’ve written about Tupperware (TUP) countless times, but I thought this thing and its horse were last seen fading off in the horizon. That was true until a couple of weeks ago, when the meme crowd, having lost their latest pipe dream of Bed Bath & Beyond, turned their attention to TUP, of all things, and pushed its volume up ONE HUNDRED FOLD and pushed its price up HUNDREDS of percent in just a few days.
This was a prominent post over in WSB-land. Honestly, give it a read. There are at least seven screamingly things wrong about it. I’ll leave it to you, sort of like one of those “What’s Wrong With This Picture?” games.
Good God. I know this was created for humorous intent, but this is real footage of people in their golden years absolutely pissing their lives away. I’d rather jump off a bridge!

It’s kind of amusing how Nautilus (symbol NLS, which makes workout equipment) goes through these giant, sweeping cycles, as if suddenly people would decide not only to exercise, but to stick with it. The latest launch was due to Covid, of course, since we’d all be trapped at home and getting buffed. Yeah, no.
