The author uses only charts to clue readers in to this little secret (Semis led the market down and now they are leading it up) but there is much more to the story, and since it has been our story (for its upside and downside market leadership) since 2013 I’ll lay claim before the whole enchilada opens up and every wise guy with a chart or a stock pick is touting the Semis.
Financial Stocks Ready to Continue Higher
Financials have significantly lagged the market since the bottom in February and the gap might be closing as market sells off while strong move in financials indicates further strength ahead, possibly even longer term as interest rate environment is changing and yield curve might reverse and steepen up again.
Shorting Mediocre Food
Some of you might remember I’m already short Brinker International, the corporation the runs the Chili’s restaurant outfit (home of superbly microwaved prepackaged fare). This massive topping pattern isn’t done yet, but it’s looking better all the day, so I just increased my position. What’s the measured move target price? I’m almost embarrassed to say, but it’s $22.65.
NDX and SOX Roadmap
NDX is in a sloppy looking pattern, is dropping into a support zone and needs to hold the moving averages to avoid going from sloppy to bearish. Captains like Alphabet, Facebook and Apple are shaky to bearish and obviously valuations are starting to matter. NDX is down another 1+% in pre-market.
