I’m in the throes of moving house at the moment and am struggling to get posts out so there may be just one a week or so until I’ve finished in three or four weeks. It looks like I may actually need to take a whole week off at the end of the month which would be the kind of holiday where I do no charting at all for a full week. That would be the first time in a long long time but might be a good thing, even if I’m not really a holiday person.

Let’s Bust 3960
Good morning, everyone. This feels like the first encouraging morning in about seven months to me. I hope it stays that way. The next important support level to break is 3960 on the /ES.

Morgan’s Vision
Morgan Stanley offered up three scenarios for the year ahead. I’m inclined to agree (surprise, surprise) with the bear case. The “shape” of their prediction is the same for all three scenarios, but the weakest one, with an S&P hitting a 3,000 target before some kind of mega-intervention comes along, makes the most sense to me.

Relief provided by an easing October CPI ‘inflation’ report the trigger
It was bound to happen sooner or later. October finally showed an easing comp in what most people think of as inflation (CPI)* and markets that were ripe to rally for other reasons used the ‘CPI inflation’ report as the trigger.
NFTRH has been on alert for a potentially positive Q4, 2022 to Q1, 2023 seasonal play since first uncovering the post mid-term election cycle’s positive implications over a month ago (NFTRH 725).
