As usual, on Labor Day, I am at labor. And, joyfully so, because I love my Slope, and I love my Slopers. And I am delighted to roll out to you the very last feature from the dearly-departed former creation of mine, ProphetCharts, which I had always wanted to also have in SlopeCharts: labels.

Good organization is a way to keep your trading world well-managed and opportunistic. SlopeCharts was built to appeal to well-ordered, well-organized traders, and there are multiple ways to assemble, gather, and annotate both tickers and charts with information that will help you toward this goal.

One vitally important method is Labels: that is, the ability to create, in an ad hoc fashion, and apply any labels you see fit to any particular ticker symbol. Several things should be noted about this feature:

Freedom From Fear

Considering the fact that I’ve devoted just about 100% of my time and engineering resources to virtual trading – – something which doesn’t mean a single paying customer to me — one might wonder what I’m thinking.

Well, to be honest (which is a nettlesome habit of mine), there are two things I’ve got in mind:

  1. I want to be able to provide a way, both for myself and for you good people, to see just how well or poorly I would do with an account in which there is absolutely no risk. I can be as smart or dumb, cautious or crazy, clever or simple-minded as I like, and none of it will cause me one penny of financial harm.
  2. Most importantly, and I’m extra-sincere about this, I want to be able to create a system for options strategies so that someone even as dumb as me can actually use it effortlessly. That is a very tall order, and it’s one hell of a lot of work.

Two Technical Tidbits

Good morning, all.

First off, to you virtual trading testers, you’re going to find a treasure chest of new goodies have been deployed. Please bang on the system and keep doing that thing you do.

Second, after half a year of development, we are this close to launching the Slope Mobile Apps. If a few of you would like to join me in the final testing of the iOS version, please drop me a note. It isn’t a big obligation; I just need a few of you to do jumping jacks on the thing and make sure it’s solid.

It appears we face the 3,829th day in a row of lifetime highs, so I shall, for the moment, take my leave.

Gap Success & Silly Lambo

Last week, on the 13th, I mentioned Nikola (NKLA) approaching an important price gap. Turns out to be well-timed, since that was the exact high. Since then, we’ve tumbled nicely. I suspect plenty lower prices could be ahead.

Anecdote time: I drove downtown last night to grab some dinner for the family, and I parked in front of an SUV. It didn’t look like anything special – – your standard 4-door Toyota or what have you. Turns out………it was a Lamborghini. And I instantly thought of the owner: “What a tool.” Way more money than sense. So you’re going to spend a quarter million bucks on something which will cost a fortune in upkeep, with lower quality, just for a logo? What a dope.

Beat Up Android!

OK, folks, it isn’t ready yet, but it’s awfully close. We have been working on the iOS and Android apps for Slope since the year began. They are both almost done, but I only have a download link for you Android folks. (Those of you who already have it, please delete it before downloading this new version).

This is not the released product. I want you to download this beta version to your Android phone or tablet and beat the hell out of it and email me (I say again, email me) with your bug reports and feedback. Let’s do this!
