Rocking with Energy

By -

Back on February 10, I wrote a post called Lake Erie, and I did a post for my beloved Slope Plus members called Return to Lake Erie, in which I suggested that energy stocks were going to head lower, and noted I was going to buy the triple-bearish ETF symbol ERY (my precise words on February 10th were Yesterday I start accruing a sizeable position in my IRA account of ERY, the triple-bearish fund based on energy stocks. So far, so good.) I would say this has been going pretty well, as the arrow “buy” point reveals. We’re up about 25% since then.

I confess to getting a little nervous with crude oil approaching a fairly important trendline, but I’m just going to tighten my stop and hang on. Congrats to others in this trade.

Triple-Energy Whoosh

By -

Since the god-damned bulls got eight years to suck off the government teat, how about we bears we an eight years of destruction and mayhem, just to even the score? I could really get used to a market like this, where my short positions fall every single day.

One other success is a long position, but don’t get fooled into thinking I’m bullish on anything except the complete failure of this administration. My triple-bearish-on-energy fund, which I’ve been screeching about endlessly, has really taken off nicely. Sure, there could be some backing and filling, but I think we’re into a whole new era for the energy sector. Yer welcome.

Oil’s Steady Drip

By -

I’ve been quite obsessed with oil for months now, although it’s challenging, because black gold itself has been absolutely range-bound for no fewer than three solid months now. The good news, I think, is that the opportunity for a break is getting closer, as shown below. We must close beneath that lower red line, however. The cartel is doing a yeoman’s job of keeping the price at more-or-less $54 for countless weeks.
