We Have Assumed Control (by Gary Tanashian)

We have assumed control…

"Do not attempt to adjust the picture. We are controlling transmission. If we wish to make it louder, we will bring up the volume. If we wish to make it softer, we will tune it to a whisper. We will control the horizontal. We will control the vertical. We can roll the image, make it flutter. We can change the focus to a soft blur or sharpen it to crystal clarity. For the next hour [undetermined], sit quietly and we will control all that you see and hear."

GATA Communication Received (by Gary Tanashian)

[GATA, for those Slopers who may not already know stands for Gold Anti-Trust Action Commitee, AKA a Tin Foil Hat factory –GT]

I received something yesterday by way of a friend, from GATA, talking about "frustrated precious metals investors" and "bankster ambushes on the gold and silver markets".  The article talks about market participants' "sense of hopelessness" about change with regard to the "Western financial crime syndicate" and the "Empire of the Wall Street Vampires".

Two Cartoons & Some Words to Boot!

NFTRH gives few easy answers.  That is because its writer has no easy answers, although there are consistent road maps we have used for years now that have never failed to help preserve capital when necessary – which is often – and make outstanding capital gains, when appropriate.

These road maps take the form of outliers (to standard technical and fundamental analysis) like the decades long 'Continuum' in US Treasury bonds, which takes on particular significance at limiting boundaries like the upper monthly EMA 100 (red arrows), as inflation expectations get too hot.  These have consistently proven to be times when inflation cultists, guru followers and momentum chasers have gotten croaked in the markets at very important turns as the Continuum pings along over the years from inflationary to deflationary (green arrows) fears.

NFTRH

Well, what better time to publish a gold-bullish article than the day after the relic was down a hundred bucks?  Here is an excerpt from NFTRH176 (2/26/12) illustrating the continuing case for gold, which probably has more downside 'price' work to do in the near term (pending rebound attempts), even as the value proposition remains just fine.

Why Gold & Why Now?

By now, a decade-plus into the secular bull market, you have likely heard all the reasons.  Back when the stuff was selling for $300 to $400/oz. the case for gold seemed like more of an outlier. I thank the market gods that I found some old gold bugs at Gold-Eagle.com back then and read everything the more rational among them had to say. It made sense, as Alan Greenspan was beginning to engage the era of 'Inflation onDemand'.

Despite Obvious Signs of Recovery, Inflation Marches On

By -

Despite obvious signs of economic recovery, including the brisk demand for 'big ticket' machine tools as noted on the blog yesterday, seasonally and non-seasonally adjusted jobless claims improving, a constructive Silver-Gold Ratio (SGR, chart below), implying improving general market liquidity with SGR's proximity to major support that NFTRH has been following for the last couple of months; despite these positive signs Ben Bernanke and the US Fed hold resolutely to a cautious view of the US economy.  As part of this resolution, they have committed to hold rates near zero until late 2014.  Huh?  What gives?  Will this not create inflation?
