I have a deep and abiding love for movies, particularly dark and depressing ones. Magnolia (1999) by the brilliant P.T. Anderson is particularly dear to me, and this one scene in particular is one which I have soaked deep to my soul:
With Gratitude to the Dark Lord Marty
Since I had a good day, I wanted to provide our savior Marty with an encore performance. For the uninitiated, this clip is of a ventriloquist’s dummy preaching against the sin of pornography (I suppose because it would give him wood or something), and – – fittingly – – a verse from the Biblical book of Timothy is offered. We needn’t go into the conviction of the (lame) ventriloquist again, since long-time Slopers are all too familiar with his cannibalistic tendencies. Enjoy………
