Tesla has enjoyed ten “up” days in a row, which is extraordinarily rare. It has achieved many breakthroughs on the chart, but seriously, I think it has to have some time to digest these gains and backpedal some. This is just too high, too fast. I think there’s about $47 of risk here.
I have a special place of contempt for International Business Machines based on my experience with them in 2005. See, I had just sold my company, Prophet.net, and the acquiring organization decided it would be a great idea to spend $3 million to IBM’s consulting group to – – – I dunno – – sort of be our adult supervision. Suffice it to say that, at the end, they produced a huge binder filled with crap that no one read, and I daresay 99% of IBM’s consulting has problem been similar for other organizations that have been duped into such a scheme. I bought puts on them yesterday based on this price gap, and truly, truly, I hope they get slaughtered.
I’m still batting a thousand on my positions, so I’m in maintenance mode. I’ll mention one of my nine positions, NEE (Next Era Energy) against which I own January 17 2025 puts. I am looking for two things to happen next: (a) quite likely, a failure of 68.97, completing the reversal top; (b) less likely, a failure of the sharply-ascending trendline.
Another day, another lifetime high for the S&P, another lifetime high for the NASDAQ Composite, another lifetime high for……….shall I go on? My bearish positions, however, remain ALL PROFITABLE, God bless ’em, with my superstar being seller-of-swill Starbucks, thanks to which my profits have gone Venti.
