Yesterday was a tedious day that didn’t go far or decide anything. I’m still leaning bullish but short term ES is retracing after established negative 60min RSI divergence yesterday. I have a small double-top target at 1801.5 and have key support around the weekly pivot at 1796.20. This is the level below which the bear case will start to look interesting again. Impatient with Gold

I came into the day with 94 short positions, the two largest of which were FXE (the EUR/USD, basically) and GLD (gold). I covered the FXE at a loss, but the profit on GLD was over three times the FXE loss. Better still, it looked like gold was going to have a fantastic down day, since it was deep red in spite of the amazing EUR/USD strength. Sadly, I’ve gone ahead and covered (still with a solid profit) since it failed to break yesterday’s low. I confess I’m getting a bit impatient with this move. Ten Sixty Eight or Bust

The local coin dealer in town has been using their “Gold Is On Sale!” ad in the Palo Alto Daily News for months now. Back when gold was approaching $2,000, the tone of their ads was quite different. These days………and they are very careful with their words….their ads speaks about how gold MIGHT be just pausing in a huge uptrend, and PERHAPS it would be a good time to buy gold. I think there’s still plenty more room to fall, but when it gets to $1068, I plan to pounce. (more…)
