Face-Off Resolution Imminent

The chart below is fascinating to me. It represents the All World Index, and with a single glance you can see the tension facing equity markets. On the one hand (or, more accurately, on the left side) you’ve got a huge topping pattern, and on the other hand (the right side) you’ve got just as big and just as well-defined a basing pattern. The price is very close to a financial line of scrimmage, and whether it droops away or blasts into the pink area will set the direction of prices for months to come.

The Quarter Wraps

Here we are, folks. It’s the end of the week, the end of the month, and the end of the first quarter of 2023. As you well know, the big event today was the Core PCE Price Index, which is the Fed’s go-to guide in order to determine how the politburo will attempt to control the economy. Well, the results are out, and it’s a dream-come-true for the bulls. Not only did the number come in ice-cold (0.3% versus the 0.4% forecast) but the prior month’s number was revised DOWNWARD.

Holding Pattern

Hasn’t been much of a week, has it? I remain in a holding pattern, presently with almost 26% cash. I have 20 bearish stock positions (by way of long puts expiring no earlier than June) and a couple of ETF long put positions (SLV and QQQ). We are positioned BEAUTIFULLY right now, and I might load-in all the way Friday as the corrupt investment banks goose the market still higher for OPEX. I continue to embrace the lunatic idea that the next time 380 is challenged, we’re going to break it.
