Happy Juneteenth Eve, everyone. I’m not sure how much of your attention I’m going to get, what with the preparations and festivities and festoonery and whatnot, but perhaps a few of you are still trading, in spite of the big holiday looming.
Equity futures, such as the /ES below, have recovered a portion of the drop we’ve witnessed over the prior two days.

Corporate pukes love to follow fads. Since they don’t really have any ideas of their own, they just ape what they hear about. Remember how Japan was the hottest country on Earth in the late 1980s and the apes in the U.S. figured they should just do whatever the Japanese were doing? Like, say, calisthenics for office workers? How did THAT work out for everyone?

I want to go on record with the most dangerous potential new fad in the months ahead: ditching AI. I’m serious. It’s already starting to happen, and if corporate leaders can get press and attention by bolding swimming against the stream and cutting AI expenses (since they aren’t seeing the ROI), you’re going to see trillions of dollars of value get blown into grey and black ashes.
