China Looking Weak
We could get a bit of a bounce from these levels, but over the intermediate-term (that is, weeks, instead of days), China looks really vulnerable to much lower prices (which is kind of a shock, considering their rock-solid ethics and scrupulous accounting standards). (more…)
Nikkei Data in ProphetCharts
It’s been quite a “meh” day for me so far. One of my zillion shorts, GCI, surged by nearly a quarter, so obviously I got stopped out of that at a loss (and was reminded of why I keep any individual position to less than 1% of my portfolio……….) And equities are stronger on the whole, although not by much. I covered some of my positions, most of them with profits, and updated the stops on the rest. I’m down to about 64% committed right now (the rest in cash). (more…)

I’d like to tip my hat to the land of the rising sun for single-handedly throwing a rotten piece of sushi into the market. As the Yen continues to soar in value (against the wishes of Japan’s Powers That Be), our own market is falling to pieces. It was up double-digits on the ES this morning. It’s approaching the same value with a negative sign in front of it right now. (more…)
