Over the course of nearly nine years of blogging, I have received thousands of emails from all over the world. I got one in the wee hours of Monday morning that was especially nice and, having the writer’s permission, I would like to share it in full (with a few bits redacted for the sake of privacy): (more…)
Slope of Hope Blog Posts
Slope initially began as a blog, so this is where most of the website’s content resides. Here we have tens of thousands of posts dating back over a decade. These are listed in reverse chronological order. Click on any category icon below to see posts tagged with that particular subject, or click on a word in the category cloud on the right side of the screen for more specific choices.
A SOH Brother and His Inspiring Enterprise……………Respect!
Note From Tim Knight: The post below is an unusual one for Slope, as you will soon see. I would not normally publish a post such as this, but I am doing so principally out of gratitude to BDI who has provided dozens of outstanding submissions in the past (to say nothing of his constant presence in the comment stream). However, because the post does allude to a business opportunity, I want it made absolutely crystal clear that the presence of this post is in no way an endorsement. I have absolutely nothing to do with the business at all, nor do I vouch for it or potentially benefit from it in any way. I am simply letting BDI had some Sunday air time to talk about something he’s doing and what I think are the fairly interesting facts behind it. Caveat Sloper!
Yay, Slopers!
I got a nice little honor that Slope was given a top spot in the Best Blogs for Futures list. I, umm, never thought there was much futures talk here, or education for that matter, but I’m an attention whore, so I’ll tip my hat and say thank-you.
From the Front Lines of Chicago
(As I mentioned in my Anatomy of a Hate Mail post a few days ago, the vast majority of emails I get from Slopers are really nice. Below is a fine example, which I got last night. I received the author’s permission to publish it, with the provision that I remove the person’s name. It is an eye-opening first person account of what’s going on out there…….Tim) (more…)
A Halloween Treat!
I’ve been posting like crazy today, so I thought I’d make a pause for some shameless commerce. If I may say so, my ideas on Slope+ have been doing quite well lately, and I’d love to have more of you join us on the other side of the railroad tracks into the prestigious town known as Plustopia.
I’ll make this easy for you: I’ll give you a free month so you can try it out. On the subscription page (which is right here), enter the coupon code spooky (yes, it is only good through Halloween). It’ll give you a free month. And, lest you need a reminder as to all the wonderfulness you get with premium membership on the site, just read this page. Thank you!
