Raison D’être
Why are we here?
That’s a big question. Let’s break it down into four sub-questions.
Question One is…..why am I – – Tim Knight – – here on Slope?
I am here for a number of selfish reasons. First, I have a need to express myself. I can’t paint, I 
can’t draw, I can’t really sing………so I write. I have been writing professionally since I wrote my first nationally-published article as a 15 year old boy, and I haven’t stopped in the many decades since. I’m a writer, and it gratifies me to share my thoughts with an audience.
I am also here for a monetary reward, albeit a relatively small one. My beloved Slope Plus subscribers constitute the vast majority of revenue here, which is why I try to give them the best I possibly can. But I also find psychic gratification in the knowledge that I’ve built a popular community here. After nearly a dozen years of doing this blog, it still amazes and humbles me that people elect to spend part of their lives here.
Slope Plus Price Hike
Since the final month of the year is upon us, I wanted to make an announcement that, once again, I’ll be raising the price of the Slope Plus membership by 25%.
As I’ve told my existing subscribers, this change will not affect them, and I wanted everyone to know that you can still lock in (forever) the current price of $39.95 per month by subscribing before the year is over.
The reason I’ve raised the price is simple: I’m still charging way too little compared to the competition, which typically has a monthly fee ranging from $69 to $399. Slope Plus has always been underpriced, and will remain so even after this increase, but I need to be fair to myself.
As I’ve said in the past, I save all my best and most actionable ideas for my Slope Plus posts, and you will instantly be emailed whenever a Plus post is published. I won’t be mentioning this price increase again, but I wanted to urge you to subscribe now. Thank you.

On rare occasions, I reach out to Slopers and ask them for any ideas for improvements they’d like to see on the site. I love you folks dearly, but honestly, these solicitations rarely yield a single good idea. However, by chance, I saw this remark today……..
In addition, last night I read pipesticks talking about flitting off to some chat room or another, which send a chill through me. I want you folks to stay here!
