Two monsters in tech reported after the close. The first, Alphabet, is flying higher. It’s funny, because I off-handedly said about GOOGL “This thing tends to go ten bucks up or down after a report“, and that’s precisely what it did (up, clearly).
This is the monster earnings week, and the household names will be coming in fast and furious This morning, McDonald’s did their report, and the whole Eat-Quarter-Pounders-to-Lower-Your-Tax-Bills strategy isn’t working out so well. In the past twenty years, I’ve eaten there ONCE (out of desperation), and holy God in heaven it’s utter crap.
As in any listing, Mississippi is dead last. But the “State” with the highest productivity (by FAR) is none other than Washington, D.C.. HUH? What “product” in GDP are they making, precisely!?!?
