It isn’t easy being green? Tell that to equities.
It’s clear that it doesn’t matter if there is a peace deal or not. A deal was announced for the 100th time on Saturday, soon to be followed by more bombing and finger-pointing, yet we’re green across the board. As long as the PROSPECT of a deal is at hand, instead of a real deal, the market keeps lumbering higher.
I’ve been getting stopped out left, right, and sideways. My entire exposure stands at 21 positions now and I am adding NOTHING. My commitment level is a mere 78%, and I view even that with reluctance and doubt. It’s the same culprits keeping the market aloft: microchips and rocket ships:
Well, I’m far away from my massive desk filled with huge screens and am now instead in the center seat seven miles above the Earth. I prefer my desk. I also prefer the market not making record highs every single day, but I’m powerless there as well. The Dow got well above 50,000 on an intraday basis, but at day’s end, it couldn’t quite cut the proverbial mustard.
“Semiconductor strength powers indexes to lifetime highs.” I just banged out that headline out of the blue, but you could copy and paste it onto almost any day in 2026 and be done with the task. The market has gone from giddy to full-blown berserk, as the likes of AMD vault higher every day (and night).
Of all the charts flickering this morning, the one that has me the most concerned is Bitcoin.
