This time I’m not referring to the Dow 30 fund DIA but instead actual diamonds. It just goes to show how a technology introduction (in this case, high quality lab-made diamonds at a fraction of the price of the natural ones) can lay waste to an industry. Like, oh, I dunno, the prospect of quantum computing destroying crypto?
Today was absolutely fantastic. It started off with me waking up to the news that my team had totally fixed our technical issues, and then it was a blood-fest in equities! Beautiful!

(more…)It’s an absolutely terrific day (working website, plunging market, grey skies – – what more could I ask?) Earlier today, I went long BITI in a big way (again, but this time with an attempted pledge to stick with it). This is the fund which is inverted to Bitcoin’s price path.
Well, I saw this one, but I didn’t bounce. I noticed SLM had an amazing head and shoulders top last week, but as a relatively thinly-traded stock, I didn’t drag it to my Bear Pen. Well, it’s doing precisely what I figured. Oh, well!
Microsoft, as a $4 trillion+ company, was considered invincible. Led by their indecipherable CEO, they were seen as a giant for the ages. Well, times have changed. In the span of merely four months, they have lost 30% (!!!!!!!!) of their value, destroying $1 trillion in shareholder wealth.
Importantly, the stock even breached a major gap (see arrow), illustrating that the only thing holding this thing up is hope and vaporware.
